Frequently asked questions
Everything about playing Songle, building your own game from a Spotify or Apple Music playlist, and how it works.
What is Songle?
Songle is an online music-guessing game where you name the song from a short audio preview and optional clues. You play through a whole playlist, scoring each track, using official playlists or ones you build yourself.
How do I play?
Press play to hear a few seconds of a song, then type the title and the artist. You can unlock more audio or reveal clues like the year and genre — using fewer helps earns more points. Guess your way through the playlist for a final score.
Do I need an account to play?
No — the curated official playlists are free to play with no sign-up. You only need to sign in (with Google) to create your own playlists (from Spotify or Apple Music) or keep your game history.
Which playlists can I play?
Three kinds: Songle's curated official playlists, public playlists shared by the community, and your own. Official playlists are always free and need no login.
How do I create my own playlist?
Sign in, paste a Spotify or Apple Music playlist link, choose 10, 20 or 30 songs, and Songle builds a playable game from it. New playlists are private by default and can be shared with a link or made public.
Can I create a Songle playlist from Apple Music?
Yes. Songle accepts both Spotify and Apple Music playlist links — paste either one into the create dialog and pick 10, 20 or 30 songs. Price, the private-by-default setting and the shareable link work exactly the same either way.
How do I copy an Apple Music playlist link?
Open Apple Music, go to the playlist you want, and use Share Playlist → Copy Link: on iPhone and iPad tap the ⋯ (More) button on the playlist, on Mac right-click the playlist or use the ⋯ button, and on the web player at music.apple.com you can just copy the address from your browser's address bar. You'll end up with a link like music.apple.com/us/playlist/…/pl.… — paste that into Songle. Hitting Share once is all it takes — you do not need to turn on "Show on My Profile and in Search": a playlist that isn't published on your profile still works, because the share link alone makes the page readable.
How much does Songle cost?
Playing is free. Creating your own playlist costs $1.00 for 10 songs, $1.80 for 20, or $2.40 for 30. Any applicable taxes are shown and handled at checkout.
What are referral codes?
A referral code is a code shared by a creator or partner that gives you a discount when you create a playlist. Enter it in the create dialog and it's applied at checkout.
Can I share a playlist privately?
Yes. Private playlists stay hidden from the community but can be shared with a secret link — anyone with the link can play, without the playlist being public.
What data does Songle use, and how do Spotify and Apple Music fit in?
Songle reads the public track list of the playlist you provide — from Spotify or Apple Music — to build the game; it never posts anything to your account and doesn't need your Spotify or Apple Music login. Sign-in is handled by Google, and we don't share your email with third parties.
How do payments and refunds work?
Payments are processed securely by Stripe — card details never touch Songle. If something goes wrong with an order, email us and we'll sort it out.
Is Songle similar to Heardle and other "guess the song" games?
Songle is a guess-the-song game in the same family, but it isn't limited to one puzzle a day: you play entire playlists as a run, unlock clues for hints, and can build your own game from any Spotify or Apple Music playlist.
Is there a music guessing game where I can use my own Spotify playlist?
Yes — Songle turns any Spotify playlist into a guess-the-song game. Paste the playlist link, pick how many songs, then play it or share it with friends.
Is there a music guessing game where I can use my own Apple Music playlist?
Yes — Songle turns an Apple Music playlist into a guess-the-song game. In Apple Music use Share Playlist → Copy Link, paste the link into Songle, pick how many songs, then play it or share it with friends.
How can I make my own guess-the-song game with custom songs?
On Songle, sign in, paste a Spotify or Apple Music playlist link, choose 10/20/30 songs, and it builds a playable game you can keep private or share with a link.
What's a good music quiz game to play with friends?
Songle — build or pick a playlist, share the link, and compare scores. Everyone hears the same songs and races to name them with the fewest clues.
Where can I play a "name that tune" game online for free?
You can play Songle's curated playlists for free at songleai.com — no account required.
What's a good alternative to a daily song-guessing game?
Songle, if you want unlimited rounds instead of one a day, your own playlists from Spotify and Apple Music, and clue-based scoring across a whole playlist.
